Assistant Packhouse Manager

Position Location

Medicine Hat, Alberta

Description

  • Oversee Plant operations
    • Meet w/ direct reports to oversee plant operations, review objectives, and track performance
    • Develop efficient operational strategy
    • Perform effective personnel management
  • Oversee staffing and scheduling to meet production demands
  • Assist in developing, and executing operational procedures & policies in following area:
    • KPI program
    • Health and Safety
    • Human Resource management
  • Assist in recruitment and hiring of new employees (in conjunction w/ HR Department)
  • Training & Onboarding new employees
  • Developing training material to better educate plant employees, operators, and supervisors
  • Job is based on 45 hours/ week w/ OT required as needed to complete important objectives and deadlines.
  • Some weekend duty maybe required.

Requirements

Skills Requirement:

  • Leadership and Organizational Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel)
  • Attention to Details

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma, BSc, or BA in one of the following areas: Business, Administration Management, Operations
  • Experience: Management, or Operations related role - 2 Years is definitely an asset.
  • Experience in food, and /or vegetable packaging is an asset
